I usually skip the memes on blogs, but this one is actually pretty interesting, so when DK tagged me, I figured why not! (And hey, it only took me 9 days to get around to it.)
So, here are 7 random/weird facts about me:
1. I don’t drink soda, or any carbonated beverages. I hate the way the bubbles feel. The only exception to this is if they’re mixed with alcohol–oddly enough, Jack and Coke is my default drink of choice.
2. I tend to have obsessive music listening habits. I will pick a song or band or genre and listen to it over and over and then suddenly switch to something else. Some of my obsessions have included Counting Crows, Matchbox Twenty (heavily influenced by ’90s music nostalgia) and various Broadway soundtracks.
3. I memorize dialogue very easily. It’s not unusual for me to be able to watch a TV show and quote lines back immediately afterwards. This makes me seem much more obsessed with TV than I actually am. Which, to be fair, is quite a bit of an obsession for me.
4. When I see cute children (or pictures of them) I feel no urge to coo and talk baby talk. However, I will do those very things when shown cute cat pictures.
5. My idea of romance is kind of warped. I think books are better than flowers and handle snark way better than compliments. This could go a long way towards explaining why I am perpetually single.
6. I love planes. And space. When I was a kid, my parents took me to DC and figured we’d spend an hour or so at the Air and Space Museum. I insisted on looking at ever. single. plane. I wish I could be a pilot or an astronaut, but I am too blind for either career.
7. I can’t stand listening to ads and announcers on the radio. I’ll flip stations until I find some music. Any music. Even if it’s crappy. I don’t mind things like NPR if I’m at home, but they make me too sleepy if I’m driving.
